For the Western historians or history lovers out there, the Texas Rangers Day History Symposium in Fredericksburg, Texas looks like an interesting day of presentations. One ticket ($25 at door/$20 in advance) grants you access to all the lectures and includes lunch.



August 5, 2017 – 10am through 4pm



Texas Rangers Heritage Center – 1618 E. Main St. • Fredericksburg, TX 78624



The schedule:


  • 10am – The Great Comanche Raid of 1840

  • 10:40am – Evolution of the Revolving Pistol: Key Weapon of the Texas Rangers

  • 11:20am – Fighting Stock: John S. “RIP” Ford as a Texas Ranger

  • 12pm – 1pm – Lunch break (provided)

  • 1pm – Capt. John R. Hughes: The Greatest Texas Ranger

  • 1:40pm – More Than One Body: Capt. Bill McDonald & the Rise of the Rangers as Detectives

  • 2:20pm – No Hope For Heaven, No Fear of Hell: Capt. Bill McDonald & the Stanford-Townsend Feud

  • 3pm – Panel Discussion
