Travel Texas – Brownsville – Palo Alto Battlefield Ranger Walks – January – March, 2016


Palo Alto Battlefield National Historical Park features a special series called “Ranger Walks” from January through March.  These are guided tours around the battlefield (or other areas) given by the Park Rangers.

Notable walks include:

Ranger Walks – Fort Brown – (Tuesdays @11am) – Palo Alto Battlefield will be offering programs at Fort Brown. Those interested in a program must call the park to reserve a program. The old Fort Brown earthworks is located on the Fort Brown Memorial Golf Course, behind the UTRGV campus.

Ranger Walks-Resaca de la Palma – (Thursdays @2pm) – Palo Alto Battlefield is now offering guided tours of the Resaca de la Palma Battlefield Unit. Those interested in a tour should call the park to reserve a program. Resaca de la Palma Battlefield is located at 1024 Paredes Line Road, just north of the intersection of Paredes Line Road and Price Road.

Palo Alto Battlefield is located on the north side of Brownsville, TX, near the city of Los Fresnos, TX. The park is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of FM 1847 (Paredes Line Rd.) and FM 511/FM 550.
